challenge help kids mom Motherhood raising children situation suggestion urgent wall

HOW DOES YOUR WALL LOOK?

I need an urgent suggestion or workable solution. My walls have been painted in different shades of crayons, from open spaces to spots hidden by curtains to even bed sheets! *rolling eyes*

The interesting part of this ordeal is when I summon my two ‘misses’, an interesting conversation (not explanation O!) ensues. After trading blames between themselves on who did what and who did not; they will attempt to negotiate their punishment or penance.
Their responses often do not show any commitment to discontinue and it most times goes thus:

Mum: Who coloured this wall (pointing at the location)
Mimi: It’s not me, its Didi
Mum: Didi, who did this?
Didi: I don’t know o!
Mum: Can both of you tell me who did this? (Pointing to the wall)
Mimi: Mum, I did not do it, I saw Didi do it
Mum: Mimii are you sure? Didi who did this? (stern look)
Didi: Mum, please I won’t do it again (putting on her best baby face), don’t spank me and don’t tell dad please.
Mum: If you do not want to be spanked, then stop colouring the wall. If you must colour, use your colouring book.  If I see another … (Sermon continues)

After this question and answer episodes, I’ll discover a new portion of the wall coloured with crayon another day.

We repaint the walls in the house yearly but I recently proposed to my hubby that we put a hold on it till the kids reach the age of being accountable for their actions. Oh yes! I do imagine what the walls will look like. Not sure I have been able to convince my bobo yet O!

How do I stop my preschoolers from constantly using the walls as their painting canvas? Are you facing a similar challenge? Please share your success tips at discouraging or stopping them.

Help a mom save her walls!

Lol!!

@cassandra Ikegbune, thanks for dropping by.
I have decided to paint the lower part of the walls with coloured oil paints.
Writings on an oil painted wall can be washed off. I hope this will solve this problem for now.

Lool! I'm not a mum either but I can so relate! My little cousins do the same in their sitting room. Funny thing is that its a new house and the walls already have 1,2,3 on it. My uncle and his wife have given up. Lol

Ok, I'm not a mum yet but if I find myself in this situation and nobody owns up to the act, i'll have to lock up both in the bathroom or any similar punishment until they stop and learn how to use their drawing books. I hope that helps?
