PRAYER FOR MY BOSS- Wise counsel from my beloved colleague.

It’s been a tough period at work and everything I did, every effort, every presentation was received with dissatisfaction by my Boss…

I felt picked on, isolated on the team and nearly losing faith in myself…

I cried out in prayer to my God, booked masses, wept at the altar of mercy yet it seemed like the heavens had left me dry shod…

On this fateful day, as my colleague and I were walking to lunch – Calabar kitchen in VI where he had introduced me to a local delicacy (one I still love till tomorrow) Ekpang kwukwo (an Ibibio delicacy), he asked “Omalicha, what is eating you up?”

I exhaled and poured out my heart to him, every gory detail of how low I felt, how abandoned and unappreciated I felt at the moment and my contemplation of quitting.

He listened ever so attentively (that’s It is synonymous of him), then asked me- when last did you pray for your boss? He went on to articulate the benefits and graces that abound when my prayers change to include my boss.

I thanked him and we ate lunch in near silence from the sheer weight of the topic that was just discussed.

On my way home that evening, I drove straight to the church and knelt down in prayer- all through the 1 hour plus I spent at the altar I committed my Boss, her cares, worries, concerns, fears, health, career, love life and family to God’s hands.

As I wrapped with the grace, I literally felt the burden being lifted from my shoulders and I skipped to my car whistling as I drove home.

My entire being was transformed that evening and I sparkled from then on, with no worry about what was around me and like a miracle, my boss slowly but surely came 360 degrees and today she’s my friend, an aunt to my kids and always welcome in my home.

Have you ever attempted making a prayer session about everyone else but You? Have you asked God to bless the people on your team? Have you ever prayed for your Boss? I did and the testimony is mine today. God blessed not just my Boss but my cup runneth over…

Say that prayer today and let the mosthigh do what he knows best to do…

Dedicated to my paddy for life Uby.
