LIFE musing RELATIONSHIP sleep

THIS SNORING THING

This post is not an indictment on people that snore. It’s just an
experience shared. I often wonder how the spouse or sleep mate of such people
cope.

Recently,
I volunteered to drop a friend off after paying me a visit. Just one of my good
Samaritan deeds. It was a long drive and my friend slept through a better part
of the drive. This I assume was probably from exhaustion or from the heat of
the hot afternoon. You know how a good air conditioned room or car works on an
exhausted body especially on a hot afternoon
.

I had
just covered a few meters from my house when my friend dozed off. A quiet sleep
would have made my “volunteer driver’ work easy; but to my discomfort and eventually headache, he began to snore loudly. I
initially increased the volume of the car stereo to drown the noise. The loud
music became a lullaby to my friend and also aggravated my discomfort. To this
I decided to deploy another approach to tactically stop the snoring without
waking up my dear and exhausted friend.

I revved
up the speed of the car, then stepped on the break, the car screeched and my
friend got jolted from his seat but for the restrain of the seat belt …
I allow what followed to your imagination.
Lol!  He woke up fretting and asked what happened. I used the opportunity
to engage him in a lengthy conversation till we arrive at his house.

“The
heart of man is wicked..” (I know) The holy book already confirmed that,
so don’t judge. This was after all an ‘experience sharing’ besides the action
was for the sake of my peace and aching head! Also a measure to save myself. (I
pray he doesn’t read this).

Why do
people snore? what are the causes? Is there a cure? How do sleep mates cope
with this noise? These are some of the questions that plaque my heart as I
drove home.

I
don’t want to google,so share from your wealth of experience. I know you’ve got
it!  * laughing*

Snoring is either due to exhaustion or poor sleeping position that results in breathing difficulties during sleep

@Anonymous 00:48, 'positioning of the head' funny. Then every body would be snoring as it is not always we position our head properly when we sleep.

    Thanks for your contribution

Funny. Snoring is just nature taking its toll on the human body. Its unpleasant though, but its all in the positioning of the head!

It was a very tiring day but I couldn't retire peacefully for nature to have its course in getting me refreshed. I looked at my friend snoring away on different notes peacefully! If only she knew she was the reason for my staying awake…However,I think extreme tiredness make some people snore.

Snoring! Its a battle for the BRAVE! I am sorry that it was a torment for you, but moreso I will strongly advise you to take a special offering to the Lord that you spouse is not afflicted by this war of the Noses'…its simply a hinderance of the nasal cavity that squeezes air from Free flow, causing a loud whizzing…Unfortunately I am not sure there a cure, but there I am sure there remedies…but my remedy is that I have come to sympathize with the Snore'er and I share with their little pleque…so for me, I turn my spouse's snore into a melodious sexy symphony that Rock me To Sleep!..if not, you might die before your time…Please don't let my wife READ THIS..Or Else…
