CHILDREN eavesdroppng joy laughter Motherhood whispering

When last did you eaves drop?

It’s been ages I eaves
dropped on someone but this evening I couldn’t resist the temptation to do so.
I have been longing to listen in on this conversation that emits so much
giggles and laughter. So this evening I tiptoed to the door leading to
the girls’ room and stood by the window, straining my ears to catch some of
this conversation.

Here is the gist from the beginning; every day
at nap or night bedtime, I send the girls off to their room to sleep. Often when
I open the door to check on my supposed sleeping beauties, I’d find them
playing, jumping or colouring (look out for the next post – what does your wall
look like) After I show them ‘Mr cane’ and remind them that it only visits the
butt of a stubborn child, they quiet down. With a sense of triumph, I march off
to my room for some  ‘me time’. No sooner have I settled in than the sounds of
giggles, laughter and a little pause in between, which I assume is the
conversation floats to me. This giggling always escalates to hearty laughter,
after which it becomes all quiet. I have secretly wondered for a long time what
the giggles and laughter are about and so today in my attempt to satisfy my
curiosity I eavesdropped.

After standing by the window for what seemed
like a while, I still couldn’t make out what the conversations were about,
though it sounded like whispers or mumbling.  I have decided to join in
the giggle – gist – laughter galore any time I can instead of eavesdropping.
What do you advice? (Drop your comments below)

I can guess your next question – “do they
sleep off after the giggle – gist – laughter galore?” Yes they eventually
do.  And on days their energy level is high, I make them sleep in separate
rooms after going through this sleep time circle!

May God bless this sojourn to raise great
people!

Interesting… You know, most times we eaves drop, we can't help it. Those words just get to you even when you seem to be minding your business. I agree that sometimes we put ourselves in that condition, but whatever you hear, you must be ready for it. Like you said, "Some eaves can break and chatter your heart".

Yours is a sweet eaves drop! Some eaves can break and chatter your heart
I vote in favor of you joining in the gist – giggle – laughter – sleep pattern. You will find yourself sleeping off in their bed one day and that would be awesome.
