I
almost got into trouble this morning in the bid to beat the resumption time at
work. While traversing through the morning rush, I got to a spot on the road
where cars slowed down and the traffic was building up. I checked the next lane
and noticed that it was free and without a second thought, swerved into it. I would have speed off only to see Zebra
Crossing lines right in front of me and immediately stepped on my brakes. It
was then that I saw a group of children waiting to cross over to a school at
the other side of the road.

felt goose pimples all over my body as I imagined what would have happened if I
had not reacted swiftly by applying the brakes. With this, I quietly rejoined
the queue of waiting cars and slowly drove through the crossing when I noticed
that they were no waiting pedestrian but with keen attention the caution calls
for.

As
I proceeded on a normal speed to work, I wondered why I usually berate other
women who jump the red light, when I almost speed over a zebra crossing sign, with
no respect to the caution. I believe that female drivers should be different
from other drivers. They should be the more considerate ones and apply caution
as with other aspect of life which they are known for (winks). They should respect
the traffic light, zebra crossings, avoid ‘one’ way driving and all the likes. These are my opinion, thought and even
desire sha!
